Choosing an urgent care centre can often mean shorter waiting times than a hospital’s Accident & Emergency (A&E) department for non-critical conditions. Medical fees at UCCs are also generally cheaper.

Visit a UCC if you need same-day medical care for moderate issues. However, for critical or life-threatening emergencies like severe chest pain, major trauma, stroke symptoms, or sudden severe breathing difficulties, you should bypass urgent care and go straight to the nearest A&E.
