To use MediSave, the dental clinic must be Ministry of Health (MOH) MediSave-accredited. The great news is that almost all major public dental centers and most private dental groups in Singapore hold this accreditation.
Here’s a quick guide to where you can go to use MediSave for dental works, which dental treatments qualify, and how to file your claim smoothly.
1) Major Private Dental Chains & Clinics
Most large private clinic groups have MediSave accreditation across their outlets, including:
- Q & M Dental Group
- Nuffield Dental
- Smileworks
- Ashford Dental Centre
- 1728 Dental Group
- Raffles Dental
- Advanced Dental
- Sincere Dental
Tip: Always double-check with the clinic’s receptionist before booking your appointment to confirm that both the clinic and the specific dentist performing the surgery are MediSave-accredited.
For a complete list of medical institutions that you can use MediSave at, refer to this list from CPF.
2) Public Hospitals & Polyclinics
You can also use MediSave at all public hospitals and polyclinics.
- National Dental Centre Singapore (NDCS)
- National University Centre for Oral Health, Singapore (NUCOHS)
- Polyclinics (for procedures referred for minor surgery)
- Public Hospitals (e.g., KTPH, CGH, NTFGH, SGH) with dental surgery departments
3) What Dental Treatments Are MediSave-Claimable?
Under Ministry of Health (MOH) guidelines, MediSave is reserved for day surgeries and medically necessary surgical procedures. Routine maintenance and cosmetic work don’t qualify.
✅ Claimable Procedures
- Wisdom Tooth Surgery (surgical removal of impacted or buried teeth)
- Dental Implant Surgery (placement of the titanium post)
- Bone Grafting & Sinus Lifts (prep work for implants)
- Surgical Extraction of retained roots or fractured teeth
- Gum Surgery (e.g., frenectomy, crown lengthening, or deep tissue surgery)
- Oral Biopsies & Cyst Removal
❌ Non-Claimable Procedures
- Scaling & polishing / routine checkups
- Simple tooth extractions (non-surgical)
- Fillings & Root Canal Treatments (non-surgical)
- Braces, Invisalign, or Orthodontic aligners
- Dental Crowns, Bridges, and Dentures
- Teeth Whitening
3) How to Use Your MediSave at the Clinic
The process is straightforward because accredited clinics handle most of the submission directly with the CPF Board on your behalf.
- Inform the Receptionist early: Let them know you plan to use MediSave when making your appointment or during registration.
- Bring your NRIC & Singpass: You’ll need to fill out a Medical Claims Authorisation Form (MCAF).
- Using a Family Member’s MediSave: If your own account balance is insufficient, you can use the MediSave account of an immediate family member (spouse, parents, children, or siblings/grandparents under specific conditions) with their consent. They will need to sign the authorization form as well.
- Pay the Difference (if any): If your surgical cost exceeds the MOH withdrawal limit or your available MediSave balance, you’ll just pay the remaining balance via cash or card.
